Diquat dibromide is a non-selective herbicide and insect growth regulator that can be used in soil or water. As a non-selective it acts to defoliate or desiccate plants and foliage where it is applied. It will damage desirable plants and foliage. As a desiccant it dries up the leaf or plant quickly. It is not a residual herbicide, it will not stay in plants, soil or water.

It may be fatal if ingested and care should be taken for inhalation or skin contact.
