Myclobutanil Fungicides

Myclobutanil is a fungicide of the conazole class (triazoles). It is abundantly used in California on table grapes, wine, strawberries, and almond crops. It has a relatively low acute toxicity rating. It is employed in greenhouses, on food crops, landscaping, turf, and public right or way areas.

Mode of Action

Myclobutanil as a triazole fungicide inhibits the enzyme to produce ergosterol, a sterol. This sterol is needed for membrane function and structure. Without ergosterol, the cell walls break down, resulting in abnormal fungal growth and eventual death.

Toxicity

Myclobutanil has a relatively low acute toxicity. Always read the label thoroughly.
