Bonide's Aluminum Sulfate helps lower the soil pH for acid-loving plants like camellias, hemlock, azaleas, dogwood, cedar, and rhododendron. It turns hydrangeas blue and works for all soil types.
Lowers Soil PH- Aluminum Sulfate will help reduce the pH for acid-loving plants to a desired 5.0. Use a soil tester for accurate soil reading.
Works in Many Soils-Works in sandy, loamy soil or clay soil.

Blend into the soil and water after application. Recheck soil pH in two weeks, and reapply until the desired pH is reached.

The chart below guides you on how much Aluminum Sulfate to apply; amount in pounds per 100 sq feet. Do not exceed the recommended amount in application. If you lower the pH too much,it may result in nutrient deficiencies or toxicity to the plants.Hydrated lime can raise the pH value.
Gardens: Best if used in early spring. Work around the plant, and water thoroughly.
Trees and Shrubs: Apply 2 cups of Bonide's Aluminum Sulfate per inch of diameter or per 3 ft of height around the drip line of the plant, avoiding contact with the plant itself. Water afterwards.
