Chigger Control
Chiggers are the larval form of mites in the Trombiculidae family. Nearly microscopic, six‑legged and reddish, they live in grassy, brushy, or wooded areas and attach to skin to feed on liquefied skin cells—not blood. They prefer thin or tightly covered skin, such as around waistbands or ankles.
Contrary to myth, chiggers do not burrow into the skin, and nail polish won't remove them. They fall off after feeding.
Bites can cause intense itching. For relief, consult a healthcare provider. To prevent chiggers and ticks on dogs, use Martin’s Permethrin 10% Insecticide. For yard control, spray Bifen IT monthly.
