Power post beetle adults (Lyctidae, Bostrichidae, Anabidae anc Cerramycida) are less than 1/4" in size. They are are wood-boring insects which reduce timbors to a fine, powder-like powder. Adults do little damage, it is the larvae (woodworms)that does the major part of the damage.Infestations are discovered after noticing small, round holes in the wood surface.
