Product Information

EarthWorks for Home Soil Test Kits

Soil testing is the foundation of healthier plants and better results. Like routine blood work from a doctor, a soil test evaluates soil chemistry and biology to uncover deficiencies and imbalances, allowing recommendations based on real data instead of guesswork.

A simple pH test alone is not enough. A standard soil test delivers a complete view of soil health, helping homeowners and gardeners apply the right amendments at the right time for long-term success.

Processed by one of the nation’s leading soil analysis laboratories, this test delivers accurate results with a quick turnaround. Healthy soil supports stronger roots, improved nutrient uptake, and better-looking plants of all kinds.

What the Soil Test Includes

  • pH, measures how acidic or alkaline the soil is and directly affects nutrient availability and root uptake.
  • Organic matter, indicates soil health and structure, helping improve water retention, nutrient holding capacity, and microbial activity.
  • Base saturation, shows the balance of key nutrients occupying soil exchange sites and helps evaluate overall soil fertility.
  • Total exchange capacity (CEC), measures the soil’s ability to hold and release nutrients for plant use.
  • Mehlich III extractable sulfur, identifies available sulfur needed for chlorophyll production and overall plant growth.
  • Phosphorous, supports strong root development, flowering, and early plant establishment.
  • Calcium, strengthens cell walls, improves root growth, and supports soil structure.
  • Magnesium, a key component of chlorophyll that supports photosynthesis and green color.
  • Potassium, enhances stress tolerance, disease resistance, and overall plant vigor.
  • Sodium, helps identify excess salt levels that may interfere with water uptake and nutrient balance.
  • Boron, supports cell division, pollination, and proper plant development in small but critical amounts.
  • Iron, essential for chlorophyll formation and preventing yellowing of leaves.
  • Manganese, aids in photosynthesis and enzyme activation for healthy growth.
  • Copper, supports enzyme systems and reproductive growth.
  • Zinc, plays a role in hormone production and proper shoot development.
  • Aluminum, helps detect acidic soil conditions that may restrict root growth and nutrient uptake.
