Apply Empero Q-Pak when nutsedge is young, visible, and actively growing. Avoid mowing right before or after treatment when possible so the herbicide has enough leaf surface to absorb into the plant.

Product Information

Empero Q-Pak

Empero Q-Pak is a convenient post-emergent herbicide designed for targeted control of tough weeds like nutsedge and kyllinga in labeled turf and landscape areas. Its pre-measured pouch format helps simplify mixing, making it easier to prepare a small batch for spot treatments without having to weigh or measure loose granules.

This product is especially useful for weeds that are difficult to manage with basic broadleaf weed killers. Nutsedge, often called nutgrass, grows from underground tubers and can return if only the visible top growth is affected. Empero Q-Pak moves through the plant after application, helping target the growing points that allow the weed to keep coming back.

Why Choose Empero Q-Pak?

  • Pre-measured pouch helps make mixing easier and more consistent
  • Good option for spot treating nutsedge and kyllinga outbreaks
  • Works systemically after the spray is absorbed by treated foliage
  • Useful for turf and landscape maintenance programs
  • Helps reduce the need for guessing or measuring small herbicide amounts

How Empero Q-Pak Works

Empero Q-Pak contains halosulfuron-methyl, a selective herbicide that is absorbed by actively growing weeds. After treatment, susceptible weeds gradually stop growing and begin to decline. Results are not always immediate, so treated weeds may take time to yellow, weaken, and die back.

Because this is a systemic herbicide, timing and plant condition matter. Applications are most effective when weeds are healthy enough to absorb and move the herbicide through the plant. Drought-stressed, freshly mowed, or mature weeds may respond more slowly and may require follow-up treatment according to the label.

Application Tips for Better Results

Apply the finished spray evenly to visible weeds without over-saturating the area. Good coverage helps the herbicide contact the foliage, but excessive runoff can waste product and reduce performance.

For best results, treat weeds while they are actively growing and not under drought, heat, or mowing stress. Always confirm turf tolerance, ornamental precautions, and retreatment intervals on the product label before applying.

Application

Apply Empero Q-Pak as a post-emergent spray to actively growing weeds. For best nutsedge control, treat when nut-sedge has reached the 3 to 8 leaf stage. Mix 1 pouch in 1 gallon of water to treat up to 1,000 sq. ft. and spray evenly over the target area.

For horsetail applications, use 2 pouches in 1 gallon of water to treat up to 1,000 sq. ft. after horsetail has leafed out. See product label for complete application rates, turf tolerance, ornamental precautions, and retreatment directions.
