Pro Tips & Quick Tricks

⚠️ Fastrac Blox contains a neurotoxic active ingredient and has no known antidote if accidentally ingested by children or pets. For households with pets or small children, it’s safer to use Contrac Blox, which contains an anticoagulant active ingredient. In the event of accidental ingestion, vitamin K₁—readily available through doctors and veterinarians—serves as an effective antidote.

Product Information

Fastrac Blox Rodenticide

Fastrac Blox is a single-feed, weather-resistant rodent bait containing Bromethalin, a fast-acting neurotoxin.

Designed for quick population knockdown, these small, rough-edged, all-weather blocks encourage gnawing and provide lethal control of rats and mice.

Because Bromethalin is an acute toxicant, secondary poisoning (e.g., pets consuming dead rodents) is less likely compared to anticoagulants.

There is no antidote, so extreme caution is required. Always use tamper-resistant bait stations to protect children, pets, and non-target animals.

Why Use Fastrac Blox

  • Fast-acting neurotoxicant provides control in as little as one feeding.
  • Rough-edged design encourages rodents to gnaw, increasing bait uptake.
  • The weather-resistant formula works indoors and outdoors.
  • Less risk of secondary poisoning compared to anticoagulants.
  • Compact 4 lb pails with a center hole design fit easily in bait stations.

How to Use Fastrac Blox

  • Placement: Position bait along walls, near gnawed openings, in or beside burrows, corners, concealed spaces, and anywhere rodent activity is evident.
  • House Mice: Place 1–2 blocks every 8–12 feet, up to 4 in high-activity areas.
  • Rats: Place 4–24 blocks every 15–30 feet, adjusting based on infestation levels.
  • Consumption: Rodents usually consume a lethal dose in one night, but death may occur 2–3 days after feeding.
  • Inspection: Monitor placements frequently and replenish bait where feeding continues.
  • Follow-Up: Replace spoiled or contaminated bait immediately. Using gloves, collect and dispose of dead rodents and unused bait safely.

Pro Tips

  • Fastrac Blox has excellent acceptance with mice but may be less attractive to rats compared to other baits.
  • TakeDown Soft Bait (also Bromethalin) or Contrac Blox may be better for heavy rat infestations.
  • Consider pre-baiting with Detex Blox to overcome initial shyness to Bromethalin. The TakeDown–Detex Blox Kit is designed for this strategy.
  • Always use Tier 1 tamper-resistant bait stations, such as the Protecta Evo Ambush Bait Station, to reduce risks to pets and non-target animals.

Use Restrictions: Fastrac Blox may only be applied to control rats and mice within 100 feet of man-made structures. Perimeter or fence-line baiting beyond 100 feet from a structure is not allowed. Burrow baiting is strictly prohibited.

Application

Rats: Place 2 to 12 blocks per placement (usually at intervals of 15 to 30 feet). Adjust the amount of bait applied to the level of rat feeding expected at each bait placement. Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 10 days or until signs of rat activity cease. See the product label for more instructions.

Mice: Use 1 bait block per placement. Space placements at intervals of 8 to 12 feet in infested areas. Larger placements, up to 2 blocks, may be needed at points of extremely high mouse activity.

Pet and Children Safety

Rodenticides can be harmful to children, pets, and non-target animals. To minimize risk, always follow these safety guidelines:

  • Store unused product securely, out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Never apply Fastrac Blox in areas accessible to children, pets, domestic animals, or wildlife unless using tamper-resistant bait stations.
  • Only use bait stations designed to resist destruction by dogs or children, and ensure they are positioned so children cannot reach the bait compartment.
  • In areas where raccoons, livestock, or other strong animals are present, use heavy-duty bait stations that prevent damage and access.
  • Dispose of contaminated, spoiled, or unused bait properly, as required by the Fastrac Blox product label.
