Dithiopyr 2EW Herbicide & Crabgrass Control
As a pre-emergent and early post-emergent herbicide, Dithiopyr 2EW will control crabgrass that has emerged up to the tillering stage. The tillering stage is the start of crabgrass visibility with no more than 5 leaves per plant.
Applications of Dithiopyr 2EW after the initiation of tillering would not result in suitable control. All other applications of this product for target weeds should be made preemergence (prior to germination of target weeds).
Quali-Pro Dithiopyr 2EW is to be used before broadleaf weeds or grasses are established, (except for crabgrass prior to tillering stage of growth).
Benefits and Features
- Provides early post-emergent crabgrass control
- Pre-emergent and early post-emergent herbicide

- non-staining formulation (excellent alternative to Surflan or Oryzalin)
- High performance and excellent turf safety.
- Instantly blooms upon dilution even in cold water
- Stable viscosity in cold temperatures
Tank Mix
- Dithiopyr 2EW may be mixed with Quali-Pro Isoxaben 75 WG or Gallery 75 DF to control listed broad leaves in ornamental areas as a pre-emergent.

Established Cool and Warm Season Turfgrasses: See label for specific turfgrasses Use Precautions:
Use Restrictions:
Reseeding, Overseeding, or Sprigging Reseeding, overseeding, or sprigging of treated areas within 3 months after a single application of this product, or within 4 months after a sequential application program totaling more than 2 pints per acre (0.73 oz per 1000 sq ft), may inhibit the establishment of desirable turfgrasses. However, overseeding of bermudagrass with perennial ryegrass 8 weeks after an application or as early as 6 weeks after application if the slight injury to perennial ryegrass can be tolerated is a recommended exception. When reseeding or overseeding, proper cultural practices such as soil cultivation, irrigation and fertilization should be followed. For best results, use mechanical or power seeding equipment (slit seeders) designed to give good seed to soil contact. |

Application | Application DirectionsFor preemergence grass and broadleaf weed control, apply Dithiopyr 2EW as a single or sequential application at 1 to 2 pints (0.25 to 0.5 lb active ingredient) per acre. Single application: 0.73 oz per 1,000 sq ft. Dithiopyr 2EW Herbicide per 1,000 square feet per application. Do not apply more than 2.2 ounces of Dithiopyr 2EW Herbicide per 1,000 square feet per year using split or sequential applications. Crabgrass Control-Preemergent and Early Postemergence ControlWhen applied at 2 pints per acre ( 0.73 oz per 1,000 sq ft) this product has demonstrated post-emergent crabgrass control through the 3 to 5 tiller stage of growth in the western, southern, and transition regions where warm-season turfgrasses are the predominate species. In regions where cool-season turfgrasses are the predominant species, early postemergence crabgrass control is obtained when this product is applied prior to tiller initiation of crabgrass (less than 5 leaves per plant), which generally corresponds to the time when crabgrass seedlings are easily observed in lawn or turf. For preemergence residual control of crabgrass, apply at least 0.5 inches of water after application; but in order to optimize postemergence control delay irrigation for 6 hours after application. For complete application details, consult the product label. |
