Scythe Herbicide- Post Emergent

Scythe Herbicide is a non-selective organic herbicide and contact weed killer. It is a post-emergent herbicide that affects a broad range of weeds. As an organic weed killer, it is made of naturally occurring fatty acids. Scythe Herbicide is also a non-systemic herbicide (will not travel to the rest of the plant or roots) or affect the soil or water and affect them in adverse ways.

Scythe Herbicide controls both perennial and annual grasses and broadleaf weeds. It also controls cryptograms and mosses. See label for the entire list of target weeds (less effective against dormant or mature plants. Since Scythe Herbicide only affects the green part of the plant, it will not harm wood stems and other non-green parts.

Mode of Action and Soil Activity

Scythe Herbicide causes cell membrane damage by burning the green part of the plant tissue. Make sure to keep it away from any other desirable plants, it is non-selective. Scythe Herbicide acts quickly with visible results in a couple of hours.

Scythe is a non-residual week killer and degrades rapidly in the environment.

Use Rates, Coverage and Timing

Depending on the size of foliage of weeds, use between 3%-10% dilution solution. Use between 1 1/3 - 13 oz. per gallon of water (1 - 10% solution) .

One gallon of finished solution will cover around 400 square feet of area. Use at a rate from 3%-10% in water depending on size of foliage. One gallon of spray mixture will cover approximately 400 sq. ft. of area.

On tougher or harder plants (weeds over 6" in height), it will kill the new top growth only. Some people choose to mix Scythe Herbicide with Roundup QuikPro Dry(1 packet) or a glyphosate like Eraser Herbicide (2 oz) for hardier or tougher weeds and plants.

• Use lower rate for weeds under 6"
• Use higher use rate for weeds above 6"

It is best to apply Scythe Herbicide during a warm sunny day. If the temperature is below 70 degrees, it has a slower rate of kill. Allow a rain free period of 1-2 hours before application of Scythe.
