Product Information
Speed Zone EW Herbicide
SpeedZone herbicide 2, 4-D 2-Ethylhexyl Ester is specially beneficial when a quick visual result is needed, since it lives up to it's name "Speed Zone".
Speed Zone is a broadleaf herbicide for turf. Speed Zone kills weeds by inhibiting growth of chlorophyll production, weed death occurs within 7-14 days. A very versatile product, Speed Zone provides broadleaf weed control fast for cool and warm season grasses.
It is exceptional as a post-emergent herbicide on such hard to kill weeds like clover, plantain, ground ivy and spurge with a response within hours. You may apply Speed Zone in cool weather. Applications can be made earlier in the spring and up to a killing frost in the fall. Speed Zone is rainfast in 3-4 hours, so there is less worry over weather conditions.
PBI Gordon's New EW Formulation
PBI-Gordon has revolutionized its herbicide formulation technology with SpeedZone EW and SpeedZone Southern EW. Once sold in an emulsifiable concentrate (EC) form containing petroleum distillates, the newly-developed emulsion-in-water (EW) version is now water-based. Removing petroleum distillates from the formulation significantly reduces corrosiveness, odor, and the potential for vapor drift. As a result, not only does our EW formulation meet current VOC regulations, but it is also well-positioned to meet any potentially tightened regulations in the future.
The supply and performance of the product are maintained by omitting petroleum distillates from the EW formulation process. Interruptions in the availability of petroleum distillates, such as hurricanes and abnormally cold weather, could affect production, but the EW formulation process ensures product stability. Furthermore, the smaller size of active ingredients allows more to be absorbed into the surface area of weed leaves, which is backed up by field efficacy trials and particle size analysis.
