Ecobird 14.5 Aerosol (12 oz)
Product Information
Use Ecobird 14.5 Aerosol to repel woodpeckers, geese, starlings, pigeons, doves, crackles, and nuisance birds. This repellent aerosol can be used for spot repelling, agricultural commodities (berries, apples, stone fruits, cereal grains, and sunflowers), and non-agricultural Sites, including turf, hydroseeding, garbage, foodstuffs, waste, and trash.
EcoBird 14.5 is a bird repellent with an EPA-registered methyl anthranilate proprietary formula. This repellent is designed to be sprayed like a can of wasp spray, allowing applicators to take aim and shoot the repellent stream in short or long bursts, as required. To use the product, applicators must wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and can make use of the Gotcha extension pole adaptor for more challenging locations.
The product is considered food grade, allowing it to be used in and around structures. It can effectively deter nuisance birds like woodpeckers, geese, starlings, pigeons, doves, and grackles. The label is quite liberal, and the manufacturer encourages users to read and understand the label before application.
What To Expect
The Methyl-Anthranilate (MA) active ingredient in a new and convenient spray can is a reliable bird repellent. This plant-based compound occurs naturally in concord grapes and other fruits and flowers. Approved by both the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as "generally recognized as safe" (GRAS), MA is commonly used in grape-flavored additives such as chewing gum, candy, soft drinks, and Kool-Aid. Birds inhale or ingest the MA, irritating the trigeminal nerve in their beaks and causing temporary discomfort. Fortunately, the bird's health remains unaffected as the effects wear off when they leave the area. This treatment only affects avian biology and does not harm humans, pets, or other animals. While some may find the scent disagreeable, others appreciate it, but most remain indifferent.

Target Pest | The label states that it can repel a variety of nuisance birds, such as woodpeckers, geese, starlings, pigeons, doves, and grackles, but as with any bird repellent, it is imperative to verify the status of the target pest bird and determine whether it is protected before proceeding. If a bird is not protected, spraying the nest or even the bird itself is acceptable for optimal results. |
