As a new systemic insecticide, Mainspring Insecticide provides a unique mode of action that kills such chewing and sucking pests as thrips, caterpillars, and whiteflies (B and Q types). It is an ideal rotation partner for resistance management. Mainspring Insecticide belongs to a class of chemistry called IRAC Group 28. It is a second generation ryanodine receptor modulator which paralyzes insect muscles, so they stop feeding and die.
As a new class of chemisty to the ornamental market, Mainspring is used for systemic protection against major ornamental pests. It is best to use Mainspring early before damaging levels of insects are established to prevent them from feeding and sucking.

Unique
Works mostly through ingestation
Exceptional protection when used as part of a preventive pest management strategy
Offers an alternative to neonicotinoid chemistries
Is compatible with many biological control agents
Efficient, Convenient and Under Reduced Risk Program
4-hour R.E.I (restricted entry interval
The systemic control provides exented protection ( drench applications:5-8 weeks of protection and spray applications: 14-21 days of protection )
Registered with EPA as Reduced Risk Program (Gloves and Coveralls are not required for early entry. Improved worker safety compared to organophosphates, carbamates, and pyrethroids.
Tested and shown to have excellent plant safety across a wide range of ornamental plant species.
Flexible-May be used at many stages of production
Propagation: As a foliar spray, apply 7 days after sticking
Early in growing stage: Apply 2 foliar sprays on 14-day interval
During the growing stage: Apply as a drench once plants have rooted into their containre
Perennial crops: Apply as a drench prior to moving outside.
Application
The more roots present, the more Mainspring will be absorbed and moved up into the plant canopy to provide the needed protection.
Foliar Rates
Use 4-8 fl.oz/100 gal. Make 2 applications on a 14-day interval.
Drench Rates
A drench application provides residual control for five to six weeks, depending upon the pest.
8-12 fl oz/100 gal. (lower drench of 8 oz.is supported with a 2(ee)
Use as a drench for plants with larger biomass and crop times longer than 8 weeks
Drench applications should be applied once plants have begun to root in their container (Ideally 2 weeks after transplant)
