How Moles Are Indicated
The activity of moles will produce a network of surface ridges in the turf. You can also see a series of conical mounds of earth pushed up from deep burrows. Bulb damage is also an indicator of mole activity.
Moletox II - Kills Moles
Burrows: First, determine which burrows are active. Make a hole in a tunnel or press down a small section of the tunnel. Mark these sections and wait 24-48 hours. If the tunnel that had been flattened has been raised up or the hole has been resealed, the burrow is active. Only treat active burrows. Make a hole in the top of an active tunnel (careful not to crush the tunnel) and drop one teaspoon in the hole. Close the hole with sod or a stone. After a few days, check to see if the tunnel is still active by the prescribed methods above. If the burrows are still active, repeat treatment.
Conical Mounds: Using a long-handled spoon, remove center plug from the conical mound and drop a teaspoon of Moletox II into the underground tunnel. Use sod or rock to close the opening. Do not allow loose dirt to cover bait.
Do not apply in gardens and areas where food or feed may be contaminated. Zinc Phosphide does have secondary poisoning to birds of prey like hawks and pets.
