Selontra Rodent Bait Advantages

  • Cholecalciferol causes rodents to stop feeding on the bait; allows shorter baiting regimes and less bait to kill rodent populations.
  • Fast colony demonstrated in U.S. field trials. In two to four days, mortality usually occurs. Some trials show mice appearing dead in 24 hours. Control is dependent on the size of the infestation and surrounding environment.
  • Highly palatable even when other attractive food sources are available
  • Lower risk of secondary poisoning.
  • Durable and stable under extreme outdoor temperatures. Durable and stable under extreme temperatures from 0°F to 177°F

Application

House Mice: Use one wrapped soft bait placement. Space placements at intervals of 8-12 feet in infested areas. Up to 2 soft baits may be used at points of very high mice activity. Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait or at least 15 days or until there is no longer any signs that house mice are feeding on the bait.

Norway Rats and Roof Rats: Use 2-8 wrapped soft bait per placement. Space placements at intervals of 15-30 feet in infested areas. Supply fresh bait in an uninterrupted supply for at least 7 days or until there is no longer fresh signs that Norway rats or roof rats are feeding on the bait.

With a rodent infestation, it is important to avoid under-baiting. When rodent activity is evident, reapply with a sufficient amount of bait to speed control and to potentially achieve control within seven days. With rodent maintenance, follow label directions.

Eastern harvest mice*, Golden mice*, and Meadow voles*: Follow instructions for house mice. • Cotton rats*, Mexican woodrats*, Polynesian rats*, Southern plains woodrats*, and White-throated woodrats*: Follow instructions for Norway rats and roof rats.

Follow-up: After initial bait placement, ensure an uninterrupted supply of bait is available for 15 days for mice or meadow voles* and 7 days for rats. Replace contaminated or spoiled bait immediately. Replenish placements with 1 to soft baits for mice and meadow voles and 4-8 soft baits for rats if bait has been removed. Dispose of dead rodents and leftover bait with waterproof gloves. Establish permanent bait stations where there is a continuous source of rodent infestation, with ongoing monitoring. To discourage infestation, limit sources of food, water, and harborage as much as possible.

More Instructions

While there is no antidote, accidental consumption in sub-lethal doses can be treated symptomatically. If consumption occurs, immediately contact a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.

Rodents are more sensitive to cholecalciferol than most non-target species, including birds, cats and dogs. Overall, the likelihood of adverse exposure to non-target animals via primary poisoning is limited (when label directions are followed and tamper resistant bait stations are used). If a cat or dog eats a rodent that has consumed Selontra rodent bait , no toxic effects would typically be expected.
