This is a very servicable and effective live cage. Sometimes I like to wire the door open and put nice little treats at the entrace so the critter feels like it is a feeding station. After a week or so then set it and put your treats behind the trip pan and you should be successful. If you catch a rat and you do not want to release him you can drop the whole trap in a bucket of water. Make sure the whole trap is sumerged.
