Product Information
TakeDown II Soft Bait
TakeDown Soft Bait delivers results in as little as 2–3 days.
Unlike anticoagulants, TakeDown targets the rodent’s nervous system without causing internal bleeding. It is ideal for anticoagulant-resistant rodent populations or as part of a resistance-prevention program.
This wax-free soft bait will not melt in high temperatures. Its blend of food-grade oils and grains makes it highly attractive to rodents, even in environments with competing food sources such as poultry or livestock feed. The packaging releases aroma to enhance acceptance.
TakeDown Soft Bait can be secured in tamper-resistant bait stations, such as the
Protecta Ambush Bait Station, or used with
SoftSecure Technology (SST).
We strongly recommend using bait stations to protect children, pets, and non-target animals. The active ingredient, Bromethalin, is acute, and there is currently no antidote.
Inspect for rodent activity along runways, droppings, and nesting areas.
As a non-anticoagulant bait, rodents generally feed less and stop feeding after a toxic dose.
House Mice: Place 1–2 pouches every 8–12 feet; up to 4 in high-activity areas.
Rats: Place 4–24 pouches every 15–30 feet, adjusting based on feeding levels.
Discard empty wrappers in the trash.
Baiting Strategy: Most bait is consumed in the first few days. Inspect and replenish as needed until feeding stops (usually within one week). Consumption may be lower than with anticoagulant baits.
Follow-up: Replace spoiled bait immediately. Dispose of dead rodents and leftover bait using waterproof gloves. Reduce competing food, water, and harborage. Re-treat if reinfestation occurs.
Environmental Hazards:TakeDown is extremely toxic to mammals and birds.
Indoors and Outdoors
Use tamper-resistant bait stations to keep pets and nontargeted animals away from bait.
Secondary poisoning (pets eating rodents that have consumed this bait) can occur, but secondary poisoning with bromethalin is less of an occurrence than with the anticoagulant class of rodenticides.
Do not apply directly to water or intertidal areas.
Yield
Read Label carefully for coverages
Retreatment
Repeat treatments as needed when pest activity is detected.
Additional Info
TakeDown is widely used in California, where some single-feed rodenticides are restricted. For better results, pre-bait with Detex Soft Bait to reduce bromethalin bait shyness and improve acceptance.
Always use Tier 1 tamper-resistant stations, such as the Protecta Evo Ambush Bait Station, to prevent accidental poisoning of pets or non-target animals.
