Dithiopyr is an active ingredient that acts as a pre-emergent herbicide. It is commonly used for crabgrass prevention and applied before the crabgrass starts to sprout. Dimension 2 EW and Dithiopyr 2L are among the top Dithiopyr herbicides.

These specialty herbicides will work as both a pre-emergence and early post-emergence stages of weed growths. Dithiopyr inhibits microtubule associated proteins, which are necessary for cell division and growth.
