Caravan G Insecticide/ Fungicide
Caravan G combines two active ingredients as a systemic insecticide and fungicide combined to kill both insects and diseases that attack your turf. As an example, this broad spectrum granular combo will treat both brown patch and white grubs in one application. Caravan G controls major disease and turf pests such as ants, chinch bugs, brown patch, white grubs, sod webworms, pythium blight, leaf spot, red spot and many more listed pest on the label.
Caravan G has the convenience of a granular but has the effectiveness of a spray. A heavy dew or a light irrigation will release the active ingredients into the plant as a systemic. As a systemic, Caravan G works through the plant roots and the foliage. Controls key turf and disease pests like sod webworms, chinch bugs, white grubs, listed ants, red thread, brown patch, pythium blight and leaf spot (see label for complete list of pests controlled). Caravan G may be used on commercial and residential lawns, athletic fields, golf courses, and athletic fields for significant improvement in the appearance of turfs.
How Caravan G Works
Insecticide: The active ingredient, thiamethoxam, control soil pests and sucking and chewing pest on the foliage. In the soil, thiamethoxam works by ingestion or contact. As insects feed on the plant, the insect ingests thiamethoxam, with resulting the death of the pest. As the thiamethoxam persists in the soil, it acts as a residual insecticide. Thiamethoxam is a neonicotinoid class of chemical (Group 4A Insecticide). There is no known cross-resistant to other insecticides, but repeated use may develop resistance, so it is advisable to rotate chemicals with different modes of action.
Fungicide: The active ingredient, azoxystrobin (Group 11 ) is a systemic fungicide that is distributed throughout the roots and foliage. It works as a preventative fungicide as well as a curative fungicide. Azoxystrobin inhibits spore germination and controls a broad spectrum of diseases. Repeated use develops resistance; rotate with products with different modes of action.
