Pro Tips
Pro Tips & Quick Tricks

Contrac Blox has been the most consistent rodent bait over the years, showing impressive results, but like anything innovations improve products.  The soft bait system appeared about 10 years ago.

The soft bait Resolve (same active as Contrac) is even better and about the same price as Contrac.

If you put Resolve soft bait and a block bait in the same bait station I would bet the farm they will go for the soft bait first.

Product Information

Contrac Blox as a single feed anticoagulant bait has very good bait acceptance. Contrac Blox is an excellent clean-out and maintenance bait to control mice and rats, including warfarin-resistant Norway rats.

Bait shyness is not a problem with CONTRAC because mortality occurs a few days after bait is consumed. CONTRAC is also less toxic to non-target animals, in both primary and secondary poisoning situations, than other single-feeding anticoagulants. The antidote, Vitamin K1, is readily available and there is a time factor for treatment.

Contrac Blox is specially formulated with an optimal blend of food-grade ingredients and a small amount of paraffin in a blox form.

The result is a highly palatable, yet weatherable, bait that works well in wet and dry conditions.

RATS: Place 3 to 16 CONTRAC BLOX (usually at intervals of 15 to 30 feet) per placement. Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 10 days or until signs of rat activity cease.

MICE: Place 1 block per placement. Space placements at 8- to 12- foot intervals. Two CONTRAC BLOX may be needed at points of very high mouse activity. Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 15 days or until signs of mouse activity cease.

RATS AND MICE: Replace contaminated or spoiled bait immediately. Collect and dispose of all dead animals and leftover bait properly. To prevent reinfestation, limit sources of rodent food, water, and harborage as much as possible. If reinfestation does occur, repeat treatment. Where a continuous source of infestation is present, establish permanent bait stations and replenish as needed.
