Cutrine Plus Algaecide is used for the control of pond or lake algae, such as the Planktonic Algae, Filamentous Algae, and Chara.
It uses copper ethanolamine, a chelated form of copper, to kill a broad spectrum of algae. It contains no corrosive chemicals so it is a lot safer for the environment than products containing copper sulfate..
Algae in lakes and ponds can be a serious problem, especially during the summer months. Maintaining a healthy balance in the ecosystem (between water, fish, flora, and fauna) in the pond is important.
Cutrine Plus is great at eliminating algae, even in ponds that are used for drinking water. It won't harm fish and it lasts longer than other copper algaecides. For a comparable and more economical alternative with the same percentage of active ingredient, we have Argos Algaecide and Herbicide.

Water Use Restrictions:
Cutrine Plus being safe does not have any water use restrictions based on EPA registration and labeling. Water treated with Curtrine Plus may be used for irrigation, drinking, swimming, fishing right after treatment. It is advisable not to kill too much algae at one time, particulary during the summer months when algae increases. The decaying vegetation does lessen the available oxygen and could kill fish.
GENERAL TREATMENT NOTES
For optimum effectiveness
• Apply early in the day under calm, sunny conditions when water temperatures are at least 60°F.
• Treat when growth first begins to appear or create a nuisance, if possible.
• Apply in a manner that will ensure even distribution of the chemical within the treatment area.
• Re-treat areas if regrowth begins to appear and seasonal control is desired. Allow one to two weeks between consecutive treatments.
• Allow seven to ten days to observe the effects of treatment (bleaching and breaking apart of plant material).
