Chlorothalonil has multi-site activity.
The multi-site mode of action in Chlorothalonil allows the fungicide to penetrate different parts of the plant, which minimizes resistance to fungicides.
Resistance Management with Chlorothalonil
It is suggested by the label to tank mix Chlorothalonil 500 ZN with other fungicides or alternate it with fungicides of a different chemistry, such as Propiconazole 14.3 to avoid the development of resistant strains of fungi.

Chlorothalonil 500 ZN is toxic to aquatic invertebrates (fish) and wildlife. Do not apply directly to water or where drift or runoff may occur. Groundwater contamination may occur with Chlorothalonil 500 ZN and other Daconil products where soils are permeable and the water table is shallow. Chlorothalonil is an eye irritant, suggested use of safety goggles is encouraged. |
