Victor Snake-A-Way Snake Repellent Granules
Snake-A-Way Snake Repellent Granules is the only EPA-approved, university-tested, and patented snake repellent on the market today. Snake-A-Way is a dry granular mixture which is easy to apply by lightly sprinkling around homes, cabins, trailers, camp sites, and garages
How Snake-A-Way Snake Repellent Granules Work
The Jacobson's organ in snakes is used with the tongue to sense its environment. Naphthalene, an evaporative product and active ingredient, enters the sensory receptor, causing an immediate interference that is repressive enough to shut down the sensory system and scare the snake into a swift retreat. It was found to be so effective that it protected our military during the Gulf War from sand vipers and cobras.
How to Use Snake-A-Way Snake Repellent Granules
As a perimeter treatment, sprinkle or spread Snake A Way in 4-5 inch bands to repel garter snakes and 8–12 inch bands to repel rattlesnakes. Spread Snake-A-Way around the perimeter for a yard application. Reapply when the odor becomes faint.
When used according to directions, pets and kids are safe.

While this product may deter a variety of snakes, it is not expected to consistently repel snakes of the following species: corn snakes and other rat snakes; "moccasin" snakes such as cottonmouths and copperheads. The efficacy of the repellent varies with taxonomy. Some species are repelled with remarkable effectiveness, while others are not. However, all species tested exhibited some degree of behavioral avoidance of the repellent. There are circumstances in which individual snakes of all species tested will cross a strip of repellent, so the product cannot be regarded as an absolute barrier to these reptiles. |
Retreatment | When the odor of Snake-A-Way becomes faint, its effectiveness may be diminished. If this occurs during a season when snakes are active retreat. Re-treatment may also be necessary after heavy rains. |
