Fastrac Soft Bait is fast-acting soft bait that kills anticoagulant resistant Norway rats, Roof rats, and House mice. An acute bait, Fastrac Soft Bait will knock the rodent population down to a manageable level more quickly than traditional anticoagulant baits.
Fastrac Soft Bait has the active ingredient, Bromethalin, that attacks the nervous system causing paralysis and death. It was formulated for warfarin-resistant rodents. Fastrac is extremely fast and toxic. It must be used in tamper-resistant bait stations to keep pets, children and non-targeted animals away from the bait since there is no antidote.
- 4 lb pails (approximately 227 sachets per pail)
- Optional Add-On -Ambush tamper-resistant bait stations
Secondary poisoning occurs when an animal ingests a rodent that has died with a rodent bait in its system. This technical bulletin from the manufacturer, Bell Labs, states that as of 2018, there had been no reported cases of secondary poisoning with Bromethalin. There are reported cases of secondary poisoning with traditional anticoagulant baits.
Bait Acceptance-It Tastes Good To The Rodent
A key ingredient in rodent baits is their acceptance by the rodent. This acceptance is called palatability. Palatability means it "tastes good" to the rat or mouse. Fastrac Soft Bait offers this "taste good," high acceptance bait in a unique oil-based formulation. It has a perfect balance between unsaturated and saturated fats.
Fastrac Soft Bait Works Well in All Climates
Another unique feature of Fastrac Soft Bait is that it will hold up in almost any climate. In high temperature and high humid climates, it is both heat-resistant and mold-resistant. In colder temperatures, you don't have to worry about it freezing.
- Rats and mice may die within one or two days after consuming a lethal dose
- Less bait required versus anticoagulant rodent baits
- Extensively researched and tested in commercial, urban, and rural settings
- Outstanding preservative package ensures bait won’t freeze, mold or melt
- 8g sachet, approximately 227 sachets per pail
Tamper-resistant bait stations are mandatory for above-ground, outdoor use. Tamper-resistant stations must be used wherever children, pets, non-target mammals, or birds may have access to the bait placement location.
The active ingredient, Bromethalin is an acute, fast-acting bait. Rodents will typically feed less or altogether cease feeding after consuming a lethal amount. You can remove the bait from the sachet and place it in a feeding device, or simply place the whole sachet in a bait station.
Place 4-24 sachets per placement (usually at intervals of 15-30 feet) in infested areas. Adjust the amount according to the level of the rat population.
Apply 1-2 sachets per placement. Space placements at intervals of 8-12 feet in infested areas. At points of high mice activity, you may need to increase it to 4 sachets.
Baiting Strategy: Expect the highest bait consumption to occur on the first couple of days after you begin treatments. Inspect the bait consumption after a couple of days and replenish at areas where they are continuing to feed, or rodent activity is still evident. Even though one night's feeding will usually provide a lethal dose to kill rodents, continue to bait. Continue to bait for at least a week to offer the whole rodent population to feed on the bait. Continue to bait until all signs of feeding or rodent activity has ceased.
Follow Up: Wearing waterproof gloves, collect and dispose of all dead exposed rodents and any leftover bait. Limit food, habitat, and water sources to discourage any further reinfestations.

ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS This product is extremely toxic to mammals and birds. Dogs and other predatory and scavenging mammals and birds might be poisoned if they feed upon animals that have eaten this bait. DIRECTIONS FOR USE It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
READ THIS LABEL: Read this entire label and follow all use directions and use precautions. Use only for the sites, pests, and application methods described on this label.
Do not expose children, pets, or nontarget animals to rodenticides. To help prevent exposure: Store unused product out of reach of children and pets. Apply bait in locations out of reach of children, pets, domestic animals and nontarget wildlife, or in tamper-resistant bait stations. These stations must be resistant to destruction by dogs and by children under six years of age, and must be used in a manner that prevents such children from reaching into bait compartments and obtaining bait. If bait can be shaken from bait stations when they are lifted, units must be secured or otherwise immobilized. Stronger bait stations are needed in areas open to hoofed livestock, raccoons, bears or other potentially destructive animals, or in areas prone to vandalism. Dispose of product container and unused, spoiled or unconsumed bait as specified on this label. Bait stations are mandatory for outdoor, above-ground use. Tamper-resistant bait stations must be used wherever children, pets, non-target mammals or birds may have access to the bait placement location.
USE RESTRICTIONS: This product may only be used to control the following rodent pests in and around man-made structures: House mouse (Mus musculus), Norway rat (Rattus norvegicus), Roof rat (Rattus rattus), Cotton rat* (Sigmodon hispidus), Eastern harvest mouse* (Reithrodontomys humuli), Golden mouse* (Ochrotomys nuttalli), Polynesian rat* (Rattus exulans), Meadow vole* (Microtus pennsylvanicus), White-throated woodrat* (Neotoma albigula), Southern plains woodrat* (Neotoma micropus), and Mexican woodrat* (Neotoma mexicana).
